Basketball Game Preview: Miyamura Patriots vs. Kirtland Central Broncos

Miyamura is 0-10 against Kirtland Central since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Miyamura Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kirtland Central Broncos at 2:30 p.m.

Miyamura is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game on Thursday. They took a blow against Gallup, falling 100-9. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Bengals are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Kirtland Central had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Chieftains 66-27. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Miyamura's loss dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Kirtland Central, their victory was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2.

Miyamura took a serious blow against Kirtland Central in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 77-9. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Miyamura was down 53-6.
