Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. Skyline Eagles

For the second straight game, Brighton will face off against Skyline. The Bengals will face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Brighton has won 23 straight at home dating back to last season, while Skyline won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

On Saturday, Brighton needed a bit of extra time to put away Skyline. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Eagles. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

For Skyline's part, Jacob Beesley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs Beesley has allowed over his last four matches.

At the plate, Skyline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Jaggi, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Jaggi's first of the season.

Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Skyline, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-11 record.
