Bryan Station unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the South Warren Spartans on Friday, falling 56-35. While the Defenders had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Spartans 12-7.

South Warren was led to victory by Camden Page and Kayden York. Page threw for 267 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, while York rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns.
