Baseball Recap: Valley Forge Comes Up Short

Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bay Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

Caleb Scarbro and Sean Frank did some serious damage despite the final result: Scarbro went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Frank went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That RBI marked the first that Scarbro has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Nelson Cruz, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Valley Forge's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bay, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coincidentally, Valley Forge and Bay will both be playing Rocky River the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Rockets will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
