Basketball Recap: Clements Comes Up Short

Clements was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lexington Golden Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Colts have suffered since November 25, 2024.

Clements' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lexington, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Clements and Lexington could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Colts will square off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (368 vs. 154). Meanwhile, Lexington (ranked 259th) will meet Deshler (ranked 129th) at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
