Baseball Recap: Sandalwood Victorious

Sandalwood won the last time they faced Ridgeview and things went their way on Tuesday too. Sandalwood narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Ridgeview 4-2.

Sandalwood's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Detlefsen, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sandalwood pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgeview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Sandalwood will square off against Northwestern at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northwestern has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.7 runs per game on average), something Sandalwood will no doubt try to take advantage of. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up.
