McAllen Memorial has gone 9-1 against McAllen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. McAllen Memorial will be strutting in after a victory while McAllen will be coming in after a defeat.

McAllen Memorial is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Mission last Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 43-14. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McAllen Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jorge Munoz, who rushed for 133 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. Munoz's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Speights, who rushed for 177 yards and one TD while picking up 10.4 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: McAllen Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 415 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 219 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, McAllen finally came back down to earth last Friday. They fell just short of Vela by a score of 10-7. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

McAllen Memorial now has a winning record of 3-2. As for McAllen, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. McAllen Memorial has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 428.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like McAllen struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 350.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

McAllen Memorial skirted past McAllen 32-29 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
