Preview: Quakertown Panthers vs. Cheltenham Panthers
Quakertown is 0-6 against Cheltenham since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Quakertown Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Cheltenham Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Quakertown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Cheltenham is ranked 68th).
Quakertown pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upper Moreland. Quakertown has struggled against Upper Moreland recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 74-45 loss at the hands of Central Dauphin. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Cheltenham has suffered yet this season.
Quakertown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cheltenham, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Quakertown ended up a good deal behind Cheltenham when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 62-45. Can Quakertown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
