Baseball Game Preview: El Rancho Dons vs. Charter Oak Chargers

The El Rancho Dons will head out on the road to take on the Charter Oak Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, El Rancho came up short against Paramount and fell 7-3. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Charter Oak scored first but ultimately less than Santa Fe in their game on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. Chargers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Chiefs since on Tuesday.

Charter Oak got a good showing from JD Sanchez, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Charter Oak saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Aceves, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. MarkSteven Perez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Charter Oak has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. El Rancho's loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
