Football Game Preview: Eagle Pass Eagles vs. Alexander Bulldogs

The Eagle Pass Eagles will challenge the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Pass will be strutting in after a win while Alexander will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Eagle Pass strolled past Laredo LBJ with points to spare, taking the game 24-7. The 24-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Xavier Barrera was his usual excellent self, rushing for 58 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 130 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Alexander came up short against Medina Valley on Friday and fell 30-20.

Eagle Pass will have to contain Gael Rubio as he made an impact in Alexander's last game. He rushed for 157 yards and a pair of scores. Luis Blanco also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.

Alexander's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Eagle Pass, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
