Basketball Recap: Khori Polarchy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Legacy Charter over South Lake

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Legacy Charter fell 66-60 to South Lake. If Legacy Charter was looking for revenge after losing 67-59 to South Lake when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Legacy Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khori Polarchy, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Traevon Jones, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

South Lake was led to victory by Dwayne Foreman III and Isaiah Pina. Foreman III went 9-for-19 en route to 25 points and three steals, while Pina dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Foreman III is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jahmari Brissett, who posted eight points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Legacy Charter fell to 4-1. As for South Lake, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5.

Legacy Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 94-62 victory against East Ridge on the 9th. As for South Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-61 win against Dr. Phillips on the 6th.
