Basketball Game Preview: Salt Lake Academy Griffins vs. Freedom Prep Academy Eagles

The Salt Lake Academy Griffins will take on the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salt Lake Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.

Salt Lake Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams with points to spare, taking the game 49-32.

Braylon Brock continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. Brock is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Johnson, who posted 11 points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Freedom Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 72-25 defeat at the hands of American Prep WV.

Salt Lake Academy will have to contain Joseph Black as he made an impact in Freedom Prep Academy's last game. He earned 11 points along with eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Leigh, who had seven points and seven rebounds.

Freedom Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Salt Lake Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Salt Lake Academy has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Freedom Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
