Ponderosa and Bella Vista are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Ponderosa will be playing in front of their home fans against Bella Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Ponderosa easily dispatched Rio Americano on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Ponderosa fell just short of Vista del Lago by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ponderosa got a good showing from Marissa Granade, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Granade has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ponderosa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate McCartney, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Ponderosa hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. This was only their second loss (out of seven games) when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Bella Vista fell victim to Woodcreek and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 1-0. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Ponderosa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Everything went Ponderosa's way against Bella Vista when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Ponderosa made off with a 10-2 win. Does Ponderosa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bella Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
