MaxPreps wraps up its 2013 volleyball coverage with its Junior, Sophomore and Freshman All-American teams.
In the final volleyball All-Americans list, we detail the best players in the nation sorted by class. It starts with the juniors, and each subsequent page will have the next-younger group.
Junior Player of the Year: Mikaela FoeckeFoecke's 2013 couldn't have been much better. The junior standout for
Holy Trinity Catholic (Fort Madison, Iowa) can add MaxPreps Junior Volleyball Player of the Year to her long list of achievements.
Foecke, a 6-foot-3 junior middle hitter, averaged 6.08 kills per set while helping her team to a Class 1A state runner-up finish. The Warriors won 46 of 51 matches.
Foecke was named the Iowa Coaches Association's Player of the Year and 1A Player of the Year, and was also named to the Des Moines Register's Elite All-State Team and won Iowa's Gatorade State Volleyball Player of the Year honors.
She also played on a USA Volleyball team that participated in the FIVB Volleyball Under-18 world championships in Thailand during the summer.
MaxPreps Junior Volleyball All-Americans
OH - Katherine Carlson - Notre Dame Prep (Pontiac, Mich.), 5-10Carlson finished the year with a nation-leading 1,001 kills and led the Fighting Irish to the State B title and a 62-2-1 record. Carlson, the MaxPreps Sophomore of the Year in 2012, also recorded 70 aces, 50 blocks, 388 digs and had 455 serve receptions.
OH - Beth Prince - Avon (Ind.), 6-3 A three-time all-state player, Prince led Avon to another state title with 447 kills, 61 blocks and 154 digs.
OH - Courtney Furlong - Oviedo (Fla.), 6-1

Behind Furlong's 600 kills, 318 digs, 41 aces and 55 blocks, the Lions won Florida's 7A state title. She was named to the Orlando Sentinel's All-Central Volleyball Team.
OH - Carly Skjodt - Carmel (Ind.), 6-0All-State Team pick Skjodt led Carmel to a 37-2 record and the state finals. She recorded 565 kills (5.6 average), 62 blocks, 448 digs and 279 serves.
OH - Haley DeSales - La Salle (Pasadena, Calif.), 6-0DeSales led LaSalle to a 32-6 season with 634 kills (5.4 average), 55 aces, 89 blocks and 438 digs. She was honored as the area's top volleyball player for the second year in a row.
OH - Briana Weber - Dike-New Hartford (Dike, Iowa), 5-10 Weber was Iowa's 2A Player of the Year for the third-straight year after leading her team to the 2A title. Weber led team with 4.5 kills per set while hitting .420. She also served 96 percent with 46 aces and led the Wolverines with 2.54 digs per set.
OH - Ryann DeJarld - Mother McAuley (Chicago), 5-10DeJarld led the Macs to a 40-2 record and the large school state title. She was all-GCAC and named to the Chicago SunTimes All Area team. She was the top player on the Nation's No. 8 team with 197 kills, 265 digs and 72 aces.
OH - Taylor Lord - Musselman (Inwood, W. Va.), 5-9Lord led Musselman to a 44-6 record and the Class AAA state championship. She was also the Gatorade State Player of the Year as named by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association. Lord amassed 577 kills, compiling a .329 hitting percentage and .458 kill percentage to go along with 471 service receptions, 315 digs, 31 service aces and 27 blocks.
OH - Alexa Smith - Lewis-Palmer (Monument, Colo.), 6-1Smith led Lewis-Palmer to a 27-2 record and the 4A state title with a per-set kill average of 5.1, 50 aces, 31 blocks and 236 digs.
MH - Anna Walsh - Heritage (Colleyville, Texas), 6-2Walsh was the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Morning News and SportsDay pick for the 2013 Texas Player of the Year. She finished the season with 600 kills on 1,233 attacks and was a .366 hitter. Defensively, Walsh added 50 blocks and 422 digs as Heritage went deep in the playoffs and finished 43-6.
S - Kiley Lingenfelter - New Castle (Ind.), 5-6

In 103 sets, Lingenfelter totaled 1,082 assists (10.5 average) and had 116 digs as New Castle won 28 of 32 matches.
S - Kylie Pickrell - Coppell (Texas), 5-11Pickrell led Coppell to a 42-5 record with 99 kills, 43 aces (93 percent serving), 47 blocks, 10.6 assists per match (1,404 total) and 410 digs.
S - Olivia Brodt - Barnstable (Hyannis, Mass.), 5-9Brodt recorded 772 assists in leading the Red Raiders to a perfect season and the state large school championship.
S - Samantha Seliger-Swenson - Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minn.), 6-0Named all-state and all-metro first-team for the second year in row, Seliger-Swenson had 1,123 assists, 255 digs and 194 kills this season.
L - Riley Sents - Grundy Center (Iowa), 5-5Sents had 818 digs and was a 95 percent server and committed just 14 errors on 610 serve receptions. With Sents leading the defense, Grundy reached the state 2A quarterfinals.
DS/S - Jewls (Alyssa) Tavera - La Salle (Pasadena, Calif.), 5-7Tavera, who was named to the All-Southern Section team, totaled 1,264 assists and added 309 digs as LaSalle won 32 matches.
L - Amber MacDonald - Blessed Trinity (Roswell, Ga.), 5-4MacDonald led the Titans to the state finals and a 59-win season with 787 digs, 94 aces (624 serves) and had 940 serve receptions.
A-A - Alyssa Enneking - Clear Falls (League City, Texas), 5-11Enneking led Clear Falls to a 40-7 record and the state 5A semifinals. She was one of the state's best hitters with 900 kills, 598 digs, 50 blocks and 566 serve receptions.
A-A - Katie Kampen - Mt. Carmel (New Orleans), 5-11A powerful outside hitter, Kampen recorded 598 kills, 478 digs, 85 blocks and 76 service aces while posting a hitting percentage of .400 and a kill percentage of .480 this past season. She led the Cubs (44-4) to the D1 state finals. A two-time Times-Picayune Large Schools Player of the Year, Kampen is also a two-time State Division I Player of the Year and the state's Gatorade Player of the Year.

Sophomore Player of the Year: Katherine Claybaugh

Outside hitter Katherine Claybaugh, of
San Ramon Valley (Danville, Calif.), is the MaxPreps Junior Volleyball Player of the Year. The 5-10 Claybaugh was named the Most Valuable Player in the East Bay Athletic League when she carried the Wolves to an unbeaten league record and a North Coast Section Division I title.
Claybaugh had 646 kills on the season, but was at her best in the NCS playoffs when she had 88 kills in three section playoff matches and 21 more in a NorCal playoff loss to Palo Alto.
Despite being the offensive focus, she scored more than 700 points, accounting for a little better than 40 percent of the Wolves' offense. Claybaugh was selected as the Bay Area News Group's East Bay Player of the Year.
MaxPreps Sophomore Volleyball All-Americans
OH - M.E. Dodge - East Troy (Wis.), 5-10The top hitter on the nation's No. 5 team with 449 kills, 67 blocks, 348 digs and 383 serve receptions in 111 sets, Dodge was named to the All-State Team.
OH - Abby Buckingham - Churchill (San Antonio), 6-2 Buckingham led Churchill to the state 5A finals with 780 kills, 56 aces, 536 serves, 77 blocks, 462 digs and 480 serve receptions. She was named to the All-State Team.
OH - Molly Haggerty - St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.), 6-0 Haggerty was named Mysuburban.life Media Group's All-Area Player of the Year and was a first team all state choice. She led the Spartans to a state title and 39-3 record. She had 66 blocks and 309 kills. St. Francis finished 14th in the final Xcellent 25.
OH - Jac'cara Walker - P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, Fla.), 5-10

Walker led the youthful Jaguars in most categories en route to a 28-2 season. She had 421 kills, 22 blocks, 301 digs and 103 aces in 97 sets.
OH - Quinn Spieker - Burlington (Wis.), 6-3Behind the all-around play of Spieker, Burlington was 44-2 and won the Wisconsin D1 title for the second-straight year. She finished with 557 kills, 364 digs, 35 solo blocks, 47 aces and 484 serve receptions.
OH - Khalia Lanier - Xavier College Prep (Phoenix), 6-2 Named Arizona's Large School Player of the Year, Lanier recorded 378 kills and 193 digs in leading the team to the state title.
MH - Audriana Fitzmorris - St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.), 6-4 Fitzmorris played a major role in St. James running the table (47-0) in 2013 and winning a sixth-straight state title when she hit 67 percent (392 kills), served 95 percent (29 aces) and blocked 152 shots. An all-state selection, she was a member of the U.S. Junior National team.
MH - Madeline Rysztak - St. Francis (Traverse City, Mich.), 5-11Rysztak led St. Francis to a 40-15 record and the regional finals with 503 kills, 123 aces, 47 blocks and 384 digs. She was named all-state.
MH - Katie Kendrick - Allen Central (Eastern, Ky.), 5-6She's short for a middle, but Kendrick followed her outstanding freshman season with all-state honors and improved statistics as Central finished 33-7. She tallied 576 kills, 46 aces, 224 blocks, 176 digs and 218 serve receptions.
MB – Ronika Stone – Valley Christian (San Jose, Calif.), 6-3Stone helped lead Valley Christian to the Division III state title with 384 kills, 42 aces, 92 blocks and 157 digs.
MB - Alex Ratzlaff - Hillsboro (Kan.), 5-10Ratzlaff logged 556 kills, 128 aces, 46 blocks, 325 digs and 196 receptions as the team went 43-1 and won the state 2A title. She was an all-state selection.
MH - Celeste James - Thomas Jefferson (Denver), 5-11James led Jefferson to a 24-2 record as she recorded 419 kills, 49 blocks, 228 digs and 228 service receptions in 82 sets. She was a 99 percent server.
S - Jenna Gray - St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.), 5-9 Gray, MaxPreps' 2012 Freshman of the Year, led the Thunder to their sixth-straight state title and set the table for All-American teammates Arianna Person and Audrianna Fitzmorris with 11.4 assists per set (1,116 during St. James' 47-0 season). The first team all-state pick also recorded 75 kills, served 96 percent, blocked 59 shots and recorded 226 digs as St. James lost just one set in 2013 (97 wins).
S - Celeste Fitzgerald - Walton (Marietta, Ga.), 5-9

Fitzgerald led Walton to a 45-5 record and 6A state title with 90 aces, 41 blocks, 381 digs and 1,341 assists.
S - Caitlyn Floyd - Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 5-7Floyd was the setter on the nation's No. 10 team and dished out 1,151 assists (12 per set) as her team won 47 of 49 games and the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. She also served 78 aces en route to being named all-state.
S - Jessie Prichard - Santiago (Corona, Calif.), 5-7Prichard was the playmaker on California's D-II runnerup team that finished 40-1. She provided 67 aces and 1,125 assists in 99 sets. She was selected to the all-CIF Southern Section team.
S - Cali Thompson - Coronado (Henderson, Nev.), 5-10Thompson led Coronado to the state's large school title and a 32-6 record with 108 aces, 52 blocks and 997 assists. She was named the Sunrise Region Player of the Year.
A-A - Melanie McHenry - Speedway (Ind.), 6-2 McHenry led the team to the 2A state semifinals and earned all-state honors with big numbers: 656 kills, 65 aces, 64 blocks, 361 digs and 281 serve receptions. She was selected to the all-state team. McHenry was also the third-leading scorer on the varsity football team that reached the state regional finals when she kicked for 48 points (two field goals and 42 point-after kicks).
A-A - Gia Milana - Romeo (Mich.), 6-2Milana led Romeo to the state tournament and a 44-8 record with 728 kills, 100 aces, 78 blocks, 304 digs and 473 serve receptions. She was named all-state.
A-A - Kylie Miller - Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.), 5-11The Cougars went 24-7 as Miller did a lot of everything – 716 assists, 230 kills, 92 aces and 232 digs. Miller was named to the CIF All-Southern Section first team.

Freshman Player of the Year: Mariah WhalenWhalen, a 6-foot outside hitter for
Newman (Wausau, Wis.), has been named MaxPreps Freshman Volleyball Player of the Year. She led Newman to a 35-5-1 record and the D4 state title and was the only freshman named to the All-State Team.
Whalen
had a 6.1 kill average on 522 kills (1,204 attacks) and in 86 sets
added 66 aces, 69 blocks, 278 digs and 374 serve receptions.
In the state final, Whalen recorded 25 kills and six block assists – the second-best total in state history.
MaxPreps Freshman Volleyball All-Americans

Lexi Sun, Santa Fe Christian

OH – Lexi Sun - Santa Fe Christian (Solana Beach, Calif.), 6-2In 68 sets, Sun posted 390 kills (5.7 average), 25 aces (103 service points), 52 blocks (42 solo) and had 164 digs. She missed part of Santa Fe's season as she was a member of Team USA in the inaugural FIVB Women's Under-23 World Championships in Mexico. Sun was named to the San Diego Union Tribune's All-Area Team.

OH - Kayla Lund - Flintridge Sacred Heart (La Canada-Flintridge, Calif.), 5-11Lund recorded 348 kills, 32 blocks and 82 digs as Sacred Heart went 26-5 and deep into the state playoffs.
OH - Brooke Botkin - Pearland (Texas), 6-1Botkin helped lead the Oilers to a 34-10 record with 430 kills on 972 attacks, 95 percent serving, 46 blocks, 271 digs and 629 serve receptions.
OH - Claire Sheehan - Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, Minn.), 6-0Sheehan led CIHS to a 22-8 record with 547 kills, 59 aces, 68 blocks, 399 digs and 334 serve receptions.
OH - Kaitlyn Lines - Gilbert (Ariz.), 5-11Lines recorded 411 kills, 21 blocks and 100 aces in 108 sets as Gilbert reached the state semifinals.
OH - Grace Loberg - Geneva (Ill.), 6-2Loberg earned unanimous Upstate Eight Conference River Division honors after topping 300 kills in helping lead the Vikings to the sectional title and a 29-10 record.
OH - Alyssa Zwolensky - Merritt Island (Fla.), 5-7Zwolensky led the Mustangs to the state quarterfinals where they lost to eventual 5A state champion Bishop Moore. Zwolensky totaled 355 kills, 181 digs and had 89 service aces in 73 sets.
OH - Gabby Gray - Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.), 6-0Gray helped the Tigers to a 41-8 record with 76 aces (458 serves), 587 kills, 48 blocks, 358 digs and 374 serve receptions. The Tigers finished as the state's 2A runner-up.
OH - Audrey Arand - St. Francis Borgia (Washington, Mo.), 5-11Arand played a key role in leading Borgia to its 10th state title (first since 2004) and a 30-4-1 record with 311 kills and 158 digs. She was named first team 3A all-state.
MB - Jena Otec - St. Pius X (Festus, Mo.), 6-0 Otec led St. Pius X's state 2A runner-up team to a 30-8 record as she had 328 kills, 69 aces, 73 blocks and was second on the team with 364 digs. Otec was a 2A all-state selection.
MB - Caroline Marsh - North Henderson (Hendersonville, N.C.), 5-10With Marsh up front, North Henderson reached the second round of the state playoffs. Marsh lead the team with 490 kills on 1,233 attacks, 93 percent on serves and had 113 blocks.
MB - Hannah Harris - Providence Christian (Dothan, Ala.), 5-11Harris had 450 kills (930 attacks), 143 aces (94 percent), 56 blocks and 235 digs as the team lost in the 2A state final and was 50-8 on the season.
MB - Hannah Towne - Rochester (Ind.), 5-10Towne was the top player on a 27-8 team as she produced 427 kills, 1,140 attacks, 39 aces, 116 blocks, 340 digs and 500 serve receptions.
S - Kirby Knapp - Menlo-Atherton (Atherton, Calif.), 5-6Knapp led Menlo-Atherton as she produced 1,028 assists and 22 aces (96 percent serving).
S - Natalie Robinson - Mercer Island (Wash.), 5-10

Robinson led Mercer Island to the state 3A title (23-2 record) with 926 assists, 65 aces and 90 percent serving.
S - Lindsey Ledyard, Cedar Park (Texas), 5-8 Named the Newcomer of the Year for District 25-4A, Ledyard led Cedar Park to a 38-3 record with 1,258 Assists, 280 digs, 23 aces and 27 blocks.
S - Emma Rogers - Flagstaff (Ariz.), 5-8Rogers led Flagstaff (40-6) to the state 3A title with 1,081 assists, 38 aces, 254 digs and 69 blocks (49 solo). She was honorable mention 3A all-state.
S - Madison Lilley - Blue Valley West (Stilwell, Kan.), 5-11Another standout setter making a quick impact, she led Blue Valley West to a 25-11 record with 790 assists, 25 aces, 45 blocks and found time for two kills per game.
L - Brady Gillum - College Station (Texas), 5-2Gillum led College Station to a 33-17 record with 52 aces, 647 digs and 644 serve receptions. She made the state tournament team and was also Defensive MVP for District 18-3A.
A-A - Sydney Hilley - Champlin Park (Champlin, Minn.), 5-11Hilley led Champlin Park to the section finals and a 24-7 season when she tallied 279 kills, 673 attacks, 54 aces, 30 blocks, 226 digs, 576 assists and 244 serve receptions. She was named honorable mention all-state.
