Baseball Recap: Pine Forest Eagles vs. Baker Gators
Pine Forest had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-20 to make it 11. They came up short against the Baker Gators, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in February.
As for Baker, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
For Baker's part, Joel Morse made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Morse has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
