Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Clockers vs. Norwood Mustangs

Ashland hasn't had much luck against Norwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Ashland Clockers will head out on the road to square off against the Norwood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ashland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Westwood on Friday. They were beaten by the Wolverines 63-24. While losing is never fun, the Clockers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Wolverines are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Norwood suffered their closest defeat since February 28, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Hopkinton by a score of 54-51. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Hillers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Norwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Ashland was taken down by Norwood 75-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Ashland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
