Basketball Game Preview: Harvest Prep Warriors vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates

The Harvest Prep Warriors will challenge the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Harvest Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 76-13 victory over Grove City Christian. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Harvest Prep can attribute much of their success to Maliyah Lofton, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 17 points, and Janay Carter, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 13 points. What's more, Lofton also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Israelle Smith was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cardington-Lincoln earned a 48-37 victory over Elgin on Tuesday.

Cardington-Lincoln's win came from a few key players Harvest Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Abigail Hardwick, who went 5-for-11 en route to 10 points along with six assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kinstin Henthorn, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points.

Harvest Prep's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Cardington-Lincoln, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12.
