Volleyball Recap: Pender Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Pender gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pender to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jensen Bordeaux, who had 12 digs, six kills, and three aces. Bordeaux has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Bradshaw, who had eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Pender was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Fairmont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Layla Hunt, who had three digs and three aces, and Jerrian Taylor, who had 14 digs and two assists.

Pender didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Wallace-Rose Hill on the 12th. As for Fairmont, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Purnell Swett on the 13th.
