Martins Ferry waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Indian Creek Redskins by a score of 51-42. For the Purple Riders, this counts as revenge for the 54-50 victory the Redskins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckenna Scott, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Riley Sadler, who posted eight points and six boards.

Martins Ferry is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Indian Creek, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

Martins Ferry and Indian Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Martins Ferry (ranked 137th) will meet Cambridge (ranked 582nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Indian Creek will square off against Minerva at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday up 251 places (199 vs. 450).
