Prairie Central had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Coal City Coalers, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-17, 24-26, 26-24.

Prairie Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the 26th. As for Coal City, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Morris on the 28th.
