Volleyball Recap: Southwest EC Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Southwest EC's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Imperial Tigers by a score of 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Southwest EC had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.

Darius Lindberg paced Southwest EC's offense, picking up 16 kills. Lindberg got some help from Ismael Razo and his 38 assists. Razo was also solid from the service line: he led the team with nine aces.

Despite the loss, Imperial saw an underclassman step up: freshman Alan Vindiola had 14 digs and three aces.

Southwest EC's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-17. As for Imperial, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Southwest EC didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Calexico on the 3rd. As for Imperial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Central on the 3rd.
