Basketball Recap: Creighton Comes Up Short

Creighton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-46 to the Elkhorn Valley Falcons. The Bulldogs were probably out for revenge after losing 68-43 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kellyn Ollendick was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds for Elkhorn Valley. Korbin Werner was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Creighton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Elkhorn Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Creighton will host St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Elkhorn Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-47 victory against Boyd County on the 25th.
