Softball Recap: Gibault Catholic Takes a Loss

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Gibault Catholic was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against the Marissa/Coulterville Meteors, falling 12-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Gibault Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Lanham, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Gibault Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Marissa/Coulterville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Gibault Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-0 defeat against Wesclin on the 21st. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-0 win against Valmeyer on the 24th.
