Basketball Game Preview: Morris vs. Kaneland Knights

Morris will take on the Kaneland Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Morris fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Pontiac on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 56-53. Morris has struggled against Pontiac recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Kaneland put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 77-45 win over St. Charles North. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the North Stars are ranked 276th).

Morris' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Kaneland, their victory bumped their record up to 17-0.

Morris came up short against Kaneland in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 49-43. Can Morris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
