Baseball Game Preview: Apollo Eagles vs. Forest Park Rangers

The Apollo Eagles will face off against the Forest Park Rangers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Apollo 2.4, Forest Park 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Apollo is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Owensboro on Friday. They lost 8-1 to the Red Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Red Devils since May 7, 2019.

Apollo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Hendricks, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Forest Park never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Northeast Dubois. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.

Forest Park now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Apollo, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.

Everything went Apollo's way against Forest Park when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Apollo made off with a 10-1 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
