Volleyball Recap: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Finds Home Court Redemption Against Waldorf

There's no place like home for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Waldorf Mavericks on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: KIPP San Jose Collegiate took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-5.

Their offense was headlined by Matthew Garcia and Anthony Le, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Khang Banh and his nine assists. Adrian Thai controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Waldorf, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, KIPP San Jose Collegiate and Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Waldorf, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against ACE Charter at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th.
