Preview: Ballston Spa Scotties vs. Colonie Central Raiders
The Ballston Spa Scotties will head out on the road to take on the Colonie Central Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ballston Spa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Ballston Spa, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Saratoga Springs. That's two games in a row now that Ballston Spa has lost by exactly 14 points.
Meanwhile, Colonie Central put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 62-56 W over Christian Brothers Academy. Given Colonie Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Christian Brothers Academy is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron Trimarchi was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Peter Tenney, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Ballston Spa has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Colonie Central, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
Ballston Spa strolled past Colonie Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-50. Will Ballston Spa repeat their success, or does Colonie Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
