Preview: Freeman Flyers vs. Menno Wolves
Freeman and Menno are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but not for long. The Freeman Flyers will be playing at home against the Menno Wolves at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Freeman has three straight victories, Menno has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Centerville scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Freeman still came out on top. Freeman walked away with a 71-63 victory over Centerville. With that victory, Freeman brought their scoring average up to 51.7 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freeman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Aasen, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Aasen scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Sorensen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Menno were a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-19 loss at the hands of Ethan. Menno has struggled against Ethan recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Freeman now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Menno, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
Everything went Freeman's way against Menno when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Freeman made off with a 60-34 win. Does Freeman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Menno turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
