Basketball Recap: Broadwater Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Kacey Ford and Miranda Smith

Broadwater Academy lost against StoneBridge back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Broadwater Academy Vikings took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the StoneBridge Cavaliers. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Miranda Smith and Kacey Ford certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Smith went 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, while Ford posted seven points and three steals. What's more, Ford also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January.

Broadwater Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for StoneBridge, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadwater Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arcadia at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. StoneBridge will take on Oaktree Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. StoneBridge's defense has only allowed 17.8 points per game this season, so Oaktree Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
