Baseball Game Preview: Perry Panthers vs. Wooster Generals

The Perry Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Wooster Generals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wooster took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Perry, who comes in off a win.

Perry proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Hoover 6-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 19, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Wooster fell victim to Waynedale and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Generals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Perry's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Wooster, they moved to 11-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Perry couldn't quite get it done against Wooster in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 9-5. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
