Volleyball Game Preview: Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves vs. Lemont Lemont HS

Thornton Fractional South hasn't had much luck against Lemont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Wolves will head out to face off against the Lemont HS at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Thornton Fractional South beat Evergreen Park 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Wolves.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Lemont was able to grind out a solid win over Oak Lawn on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0.

Lemont never let Oak Lawn on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22.

Lemont's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Thornton Fractional South, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Thornton Fractional South couldn't quite get it done against Lemont when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Red Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
