After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jay, Salina was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 31-27 W over the Sequoyah Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 44-26 loss.

Salina's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Sequoyah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Salina and Sequoyah could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Salina (ranked 385th) will meet Locust Grove (ranked 20th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Salina has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 23. Similarly, Sequoyah will challenge Kansas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 139 places (248 vs. 109).
