Basketball Recap: Red Mesa Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Red Mesa had won two straight games and Jonah Herbert did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Red Mesa Redskins came out on top against the St. Michael Cardinals by a score of 70-58 thanks in part to Herbert, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 19 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Another player making a difference was Devyn John, who went 7 of 15 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played.

The victory got Red Mesa back to even at 9-9. As for St. Michael, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

The future could be bright for both Red Mesa and St. Michael: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Red Mesa will look to extend BASIS Flagstaff's three-game losing streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, St. Michael will try to hand Shonto Prep their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
