Recap: Three Rivers Bulldogs vs. Woodsboro Eagles
The Three Rivers Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Woodsboro Eagles on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 26-24. Three Rivers just can't catch a break and has now endured five losses in a row.
Woodsboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaqulynn Tully, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Tully has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was L'emay Thompson, who scored two points.
Three Rivers' defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Woodsboro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-20.
Three Rivers will be playing at home against Port Aransas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Aransas is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Woodsboro, they will head out on the road to challenge Kenedy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenedy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
