The Memorial Mustangs will head out to square off against the Tompkins Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Memorial will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Cypress Creek on Friday. Memorial's pitchers stepped up to hand Cypress Creek an 11-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Elise Adams was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Vlasak, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Reese Waggoner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tompkins waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 9-5.

Tompkins' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Everything went Memorial's way against Tompkins when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Memorial made off with a 6-0 victory. Will Memorial repeat their success, or does Tompkins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
