Basketball Recap: Permian Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Permian entered their match against Frenship on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Permian Panthers fell 66-56 to the Frenship Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Frenship's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patton Pinkins led the charge by going 10 of 21 on his way to 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Campbell, who went 9 for 12 en route to 21 points.

Permian's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9. As for Frenship, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-7.

Permian is taking a road trip to face off against Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Permian is facing Midland Legacy at the right time seeing as Midland Legacy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Frenship, they will be playing at home against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frenship knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 23 games -- so hopefully Midland likes a good challenge.
