Baseball Preview: Cathedral Fighting Irish vs. Zionsville Eagles        
        
		
            
 The Cathedral Fighting Irish are on the road again  on Tuesday to play the Zionsville Eagles at 5:30  p.m. Cathedral's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so Zionsville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 On Saturday, Cathedral beat St. Xavier 4-1.
  Patrick Mazur was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Zionsville was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mooresville.
 Zionsville also got a good showing from  Braden Shaw, who   tossed four innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   two  hits.
 At the plate,  Tyler Hughes was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Cathedral's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Zionsville, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-3.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Tuesday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cathedral has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8.8  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Zionsville struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.9. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Cathedral skirted past Zionsville  5-4 when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cathedral since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
