Basketball Recap: Normandy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Normandy can now relate to. They lost 65-43 to the Shaker Heights Red Raiders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Invaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 174th).

Quinn Coggins was nothing short of spectacular for Shaker Heights: he shot 71% from the field on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Coggins a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacire Eaddy, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points and five rebounds.

Normandy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. Shaker Heights' win bumped their record up to 8-15.

Normandy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shaker Heights, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-67 victory against Washington on the 1st.
