Basketball Game Preview: Midtown Knights vs. Pace Academy Knights

The Midtown Knights will head out to take on the Pace Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Midtown will be strutting in after a victory while Pace Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Midtown will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Jackson, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Midtown came out on top against Jackson by a score of 59-50 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pace Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They took a blow against Creekside, falling 64-27. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Seminoles are ranked tenth).

Midtown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Pace Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Everything came up roses for Midtown against Pace Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midtown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
