Soccer Game Preview: Klein vs. Magnolia West

The Klein Bearkats will square off against the Magnolia West Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Klein's offense. They fell 2-0 to Tomball on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bearkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Cougars are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Magnolia West managed to keep up with Tomball until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Magnolia West came up short against Tomball, falling 4-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Klein's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three contests. As for Magnolia West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Klein took their win against Magnolia West in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 6-2. Will Klein repeat their success, or does Magnolia West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
