Softball Recap: Atascadero's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Atascadero got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against the Orcutt Academy Spartans by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Greyhounds: when they faced off against the Spartans back in March, they had to take a 8-2 loss.

The team relied heavily on Devyn Dutra, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Bedell, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Atascadero's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Orcutt Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Coming up, Atascadero will face off against Templeton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Orcutt Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pioneer Valley at 4:30 p.m.
