Basketball Recap: Battle Lake Takes a Loss

Battle Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Rothsay Tigers, falling 57-37. The Battlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Battle Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rothsay, they moved to 1-2 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Battle Lake will take on Bertha-Hewitt in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Lake is facing Bertha-Hewitt at the right time seeing as Bertha-Hewitt is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Rothsay, they will be home for the holidays to greet Ashby at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rothsay knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Ashby likes a good challenge.
