Softball Recap: Santa Ynez Comes Up Short

Santa Ynez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Nipomo Titans, falling 19-0. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 22-1 to the Titans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Santa Ynez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Nipomo, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Ynez will head out to square off against Morro Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Ynez is facing Morro Bay at the right time seeing as Morro Bay is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Nipomo, they are taking a road trip to take on Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Maria has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something Nipomo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
