Softball Recap: Karns City Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

While Karns City's victory against Keystone wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gremlins had just enough and edged out the Panthers 9-8. The Gremlins haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Aubrey Taylor was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrik Reed, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Karns City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Karns City's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Keystone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Karns City will head out to square off against Cranberry Area at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gremlins will need to watch out since the Berries have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Keystone, they will venture away from home to take on Rocky Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
