Volleyball Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short

Homestead and Buchanan squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Homestead had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since October 7th.

Homestead took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-22.

Buchanan found their leader in sophomore Penny Garcia, who had nine digs and two aces. Garcia has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last five times she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Homestead and nudges their season record down to 26-9. As for Buchanan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 36-8 record this season.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Buchanan, they will face off against Campolindo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
