Softball Recap: Hershey Has No Trouble Against Lexington

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centura, Hershey was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Lexington Minutemen 6-0. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Minutemen last Saturday, they had to take a 7-0 defeat.

Ellie Hampton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Karleigh Didier was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Hershey's record now sits at 6-15. As for Lexington, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Hershey will take on Gothenburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they are taking a road trip to take on Highway 6 at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Minutemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
