Baseball Recap: Vinton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Vinton's last matchup with DeQuincy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Vinton Lions came up short against the DeQuincy Tigers, falling 6-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Vinton moved to 11-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for DeQuincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.
