Basketball Game Preview: Longwood Panthers vs. Lincoln Park Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Longwood Panthers face off against the Lincoln Park Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Monday... Longwood is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Longwood came up short against Brooks and fell 41-29. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 630th, while the Eagles are ranked 214th).

Meanwhile, Lincoln Park took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 74-44 win over Griffith. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Lincoln Park's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Longwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Longwood was taken down by Lincoln Park 82-55 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Longwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
