Softball Game Preview: Hoover Tornados vs. Firebaugh Falcons

The Hoover Tornados are taking a road trip to take on the Firebaugh Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Firebaugh took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoover, who comes in off a win.

Hoover will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Bolsa Grande on Saturday. The Tornados came out on top against the Matadors by a score of 12-7.

Hannah Parker was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Haylee Malagon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Firebaugh's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against Garden Grove, falling 15-5.

Firebaugh now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Hoover, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Hoover might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Firebaugh in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Tornados avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
