Basketball Recap: Great Plains Lutheran Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Great Plains Lutheran had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Sioux Falls Lutheran on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Great Plains Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Rubendall, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Rubendall has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Micah Holien, who scored ten points and four steals.

Great Plains Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Sioux Falls Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Great Plains Lutheran has already played their next game (against Clark/Willow Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sioux Falls Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oldham-Ramona/R at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
